Image and video hosting by TinyPic JASON KELLY

I began tattooing in the Atlanta area in 1995 when I was 15 years old, though it didn't become my full time profession until 1998. I was apprenticed by my father Rod Kelly. He was introduced to tattooing through outlaw biker culture in the early 80's. As a child I was captivated by the images tattooed on my dad and his friends - skulls, eagles, panthers, naked women, wizards, grim reapers... these images are the heart and soul of tattooing for me.

I believe in the rebellious spirit of tattooing. That tattoos represent who you are, who you were, or who you will one day become. Tattooing is about art just as much as it is about symbolism and establishing your own folklore. Telling your story in your own timeline.

I've worked at several different shops in the Atlanta area. 5 years of my career was spent working for Cap Szumski at Timeless Tattoo. I've also worked at Russ Abbott's Ink and Dagger and Phil Colvin's Memorial Tattoo. In September 2012 I opened Live Free Tattoo in the Grant Park neighborhood of Atlanta. My passion for my life is to carry on the tradition of traveling and tattooing.

I appreciate that tattooing is a folk art made by hands and tools and I try to stay true to the traditions of the past.

If you'd like to get tattooed please email me and I'll write you back. Thanks!

Appointment, Pricing, and Contact Info

I opened Live Free Tattoo in September 2012 in the historic Grant Park neighborhood of Atlanta, GA. I enjoy the spontaneity of walk-ins but i typically work by appointment only. I can schedule appointments in the morning, during the day, or late at night to accommodate your schedule. I can often fit small tattoos in with little notice, so feel free to call me if you get the itch! I also do a lot of large projects which may require a wait time of several weeks. A $50 deposit is required to set an appointment.

I will typically quote a price range up front for a small tattoo. For a larger project I charge between $125-$150 an hour. I usually keep sessions between 2-3 hours at the most to keep the pain manageable and the price affordable. I will do longer sessions for out of town clients.
